The Director of Corporate Strategy for a leading telecommunications and media company is required to drive its long-term strategic vision. This high-impact role will involve shaping business direction, evaluating new market opportunities, and working closely with senior leadership to enhance growth and transformation. Please note this role is Director level (Level 7) reporting into the Exec board, so we are looking for someone who has already operated in a Director of Corporate Strategy role, ideally for a large Telco TMT sector business. Alternative industry experience would be considered but must be private sector and business, not consultancy side. You will also need to have managed and ideally merged large strategy teams of 10+ and have pure corporate strategy experience. Candidates at a similar level of experience who only have Commercial Strategy or Transformation Strategy have already been discounted. This is a pure corporate strategy Director role.

The Director of Corporate Strategy is a key leadership role - working in the Strategy team, it is responsible for shaping the overarching strategy for the business and ensuring effective implementation and oversight of key strategic initiatives. The role involves orchestrating the commercial and operational strategy of the end-to-end business, meeting shareholders' ambitions for growth and financial returns.

The role holder will be required to influence and work closely with all areas of the business and both shareholders, developing and maintaining a market-winning strategy. This is a critical role in building and executing the strategy for our organisation.

This is initially a 6-month contract whilst they seek a permanent hire but is likely to get extended, so if you are looking for something longer-term, please apply. Ideally, we are looking for someone to start within 4 weeks. This is Inside IR35.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Develop and execute corporate strategy aligned with industry trends and business goals.
2. Identify and assess strategic opportunities, including partnerships, acquisitions, and market expansion.
3. Collaborate with key stakeholders, including C-suite executives, to influence and drive strategic initiatives.
4. Provide data-driven insights through research and analysis to support decision-making.
5. Lead cross-functional projects that contribute to business innovation and performance.

Candidate Profile:

1. Proven experience in corporate strategy at Director level for large telecomms TMT sector or similar private sector enterprise environment. Must have pure corporate strategy experience at Director level as opposed to Commercial Strategy or Transformation Strategy roles.
2. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to interpret complex data and market trends.
3. Excellent stakeholder engagement, communication and influencing skills at the executive board level for large corporate.
4. Excellent leadership experience managing / merging large strategy teams of 10+
5. A track record of successfully driving strategic initiatives with measurable business impact.
6. Industry experience in telecommunications, media, or technology is a distinct advantage.
