J3A Recruitment is proud to partner with a leading Tier 1 Contractor within the Water Industry. Having achieved significant success throughout AMP 7, they are gearing up for even greater accomplishments in AMP 8.

Due to an expanding workload, they are seeking an experienced Project Engineer (Electrical) to join their dynamic team and support a portfolio of wastewater projects. These exciting schemes, ranging from design to handover, will involve collaboration with Yorkshire Water and Severn Trent Water.

Responsibilities of the Project Engineer

  • Take ownership of MEICA (Electrical) aspects across multiple wastewater projects from inception to completion.
  • Collaborate with the design team and suppliers during tender and delivery phases.
  • Manage subcontractors and material orders, ensuring compliance with quality standards and timelines.
  • Contribute to project planning, programming, and progress tracking to meet budgetary and program constraints.
  • Conduct inspections, FATs, and SATs to guarantee quality and adherence to specifications.
  • Liaise with clients and provide technical assistance to the project management and commercial teams.
  • Ensure all required documentation, including O&M manuals and closeout materials, is delivered accurately and on time.

What You'll Need to Succeed

  • A qualification in Electrical Engineering (HNC/Degree preferred).
  • Experience in contractor-based roles within the water industry, specifically in wastewater treatment projects.
  • Knowledge of NEC4 contracts and budget control (desirable).
  • Strong communication, analytical, and organizational skills with a detail-oriented mindset.
  • SMSTS, CSCS, and EUSR Blue Card certifications are desirable but not essential.
  • Ability to supervise and collaborate with on-site teams, including subcontractors and apprentices.
