Job description

Do you have a background in working within a busy Stores environment, with a fast-paced goods in/out function or a dynamic kitting process? If so, this role is for you. TVS Interfleet in Wisbech has 4 sites, each with its own Stores function, and your role will be to provide support across the group.

What is the role?

The Stores Operative works as part of a team and has the responsibility to ensure that the function has the right stock in the right place at the right time, maintaining and updating stock on M1 (ERP system). The job holder is required to ensure that components are bought in a timely manner so that production is continuous. The job holder is responsible for reporting any shortfall as soon as known so that customers' expectations can be appropriately managed.

Who would this role suit?

This role would suit an experienced logistics or stores controller with a background in engineering or manufacturing stores or has a background in picking complex bills of materials or parts lists. Ideally, you will have also worked in an environment where deliveries are made daily requiring booking and checking, and stock counts on a daily basis. A valid forklift licence is preferred, along with good IT skills and the use of stock systems such as M1 is a definite advantage.

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

1. Accepting and unloading deliveries, booking them onto the stock system and keeping purchasing informed of any discrepancies.
2. Picking kits of parts.
3. Ensuring that all incoming parts are unloaded, checked and appropriately stored.
4. Loading/unloading all delivery and collection vehicles.
5. Processing internal customer orders.
6. Inspecting materials delivered and ensuring stock is sufficient.
7. Making sure that all materials are put in correct locations for storage.
8. Inventory counting and stock checks for materials planning.
9. Delivering all production materials to bays required for production.
