The role

In the role of client, ensure the successful and safe delivery of the plot following receipt of planning consent in line with the approved commercial assessment, cost plan, programme, brief and statutory requirements whilst managing key project stakeholders, joint venture and funding partners.

What will you do?

  • Manage and co-ordinate delivery of projects following receipt of planning through until practical completion, handover and close out of defects.
  • Effectively manage project risks and opportunities, identifying opportunities to drive value through delivery.
  • Responsible for key customer and stakeholder relationships including Local Planning Authority, development partners and investors.
  • Manage direct consultants including Project Manager, Quantity Surveyor, Employer’s Agent and Independent Certifier.
  • Support the procurement of the main contractor.
  • Act as the client representative for safety through delivery.
  • Commercial ownership of the Project including all costs and revenue forecasting and financial reporting.
  • Manage compliance against all statutory requirements i.e. Planning, Building Safety Regulator, Building Control, etc.
  • Responsible for ensuring that all relevant legal agreements are managed and administered.
  • Responsible for setting up for any adoption agreements, wayleaves, easements, land title, build over agreements or similar as required to complete the development.
  • Develop and manage the occupation & handover strategy for all sections and practical completion.

You will bring

  • A passion for cities and placemaking.
  • Demonstrable experience of managing development vision and outcomes in large scale urban regeneration projects and demonstrable understanding of development processes.
  • Commercial acumen and negotiation skills.
  • Proven exposure to managing 3rd party main contractors and stakeholders.
  • An understanding and appreciation of the contractual relationships between parties (land-owners, local authority, tenants, funders and banks).
  • A desire to think beyond physical transformation and drive socio economic improvements for local communities.
  • Excellent presentation and communication skills.
