Payrate: £20.86 per hour (PAYE) or £26.50 per hour (Umbrella)

Work pattern: hybrid (2 days a week in the office)

A West London Local Authority is looking for an Executive Officer to provide essential business support to an Executive Director and the Departmental Management Team.

As an Executive Officer, you will play a key role in supporting senior management, acting as the first point of contact for colleagues, external partners, and stakeholders. You’ll oversee inbox and diary management, coordinate Cabinet Member briefings, and provide high-quality administrative support to ensure the smooth running of the department. The role requires strong organisational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to handle sensitive information with discretion.

Key Responsibilities

  • Act as the first point of contact for Senior Managers, handling complex queries, sensitive calls, and correspondence.
  • Manage inboxes and diaries, ensuring schedules are well-organised and urgent matters are prioritised.
  • Organise and manage monthly Cabinet Member briefings and Board Meetings, including preparing documents and taking minutes.
  • Liaise with MPs, Councillors, Executive Directors, Government Officers, and external partners.
  • Support project work, carrying out research and gathering information when required.
  • Plan and coordinate events, conferences, and seminars.

The successful candidate will have:

  • Experience in a high-level administrative support role, including inbox and diary management.
  • Strong experience in event planning and meeting coordination.
  • Strong written and verbal communication abilities.
  • Good organisational skills, with the ability to prioritise tasks and manage time effectively.
  • A flexible and proactive approach, able to adapt to changing priorities.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel and databases.
  • Experience in project work and research.
