Job description

Due to significant growth, Skills for Security, the leading provider of apprenticeships to the Fire and Security sector, is looking to recruit an enthusiastic, knowledgeable, and passionate Learner Skills Coach on a full-time basis to support in the delivery of Customer Service, Business Administration, and Team Leader apprenticeship standards.

The successful applicant will be responsible for:

  1. The effective delivery of Customer Service, Business Administration, and Team Leader apprenticeship standards through a blend of delivery styles including face-to-face, remote, and workshops.
  2. Ownership of a caseload of circa 40 learners.
  3. Supporting learners from initial enquiry through to End Point Assessment.

This role may require occasional travel to meet the needs of learners; however, most of the role can be conducted remotely.

Team Leader Topics:

  1. Leading and managing people.
  2. Communication and relationship building.
  3. Project and operational management.
  4. Aware of and managing self.
  5. Introduction to business finance.
  6. Problem solving and decision making.

Business Administrator Topics:

  1. Information Technology.
  2. Policies, Processes, Record and Document Production.
  3. Decision Making, Interpersonal Skills, and Communications.
  4. Quality, Professionalism, and Performance Management.
  5. Project management, Planning, and organisation.
  6. Stakeholder management.
  7. External environment factors.

Customer Service Topics:

  1. Knowing your customers.
  2. Understanding the organisation.
  3. Meeting regulations and legislation.
  4. Systems and resources.
  5. Your role and responsibility.
  6. Customer experience.
  7. Produce and Service knowledge.

Requirements:

  1. Demonstrable relevant experience in a suitable role (min 3 years).
  2. Experience of apprenticeship delivery preferred but not essential.
  3. Experience of working within the Fire and Security industry preferred but not essential.
  4. Proven track record of working to KPI’s.
  5. Familiarisation with Microsoft Teams.
  6. Be able to present information clearly to differing audiences.
  7. Hold the following or be prepared to work towards: AET or above (or equivalent), Assessing Competence in Work environment or above (or equivalent), IQA.
  8. Some flexibility to liaise with learners outside of ‘usual’ work hours.
  9. Availability for occasional travel.

Salary & Benefits:

  1. Salary Circa £30K.
  2. Holiday - 25 days + Bank Holidays.

  1. Two references required, specifically asking if there is any reason not to be employed around persons under 18.
  2. Satisfactory explanation for any gaps in your CV.
  3. A DBS check required prior to confirmation of appointment.
