This opportunity is within the US Casualty Team within the London Wholesale Casualty unit. The US Casualty team writes mainly open market Insured’s that are generally Fortune 1000 companies. Insureds are domiciled in the US, and the account is split among Global Fortune (Industrial, Manufacturing, Mining, Chemical, OLT), Commercial Construction, Rail (Passenger and Freight), Life Science, and Trucking. The team is led by Glen Secular and consists of 3 additional Underwriters and an Assistant Underwriter.
As an Underwriter, working within the London Wholesale/Lloyd’s D&F market, you will be responsible for delivering a profitable & sustainable ‘Underwriting’ service to your clients. Your key tasks include underwriting business within the agreed business plan and individual authority; supporting the business planning and forecasting process; monitoring financial exposure within outlined limits; monitoring premium income to ensure it remains within set limits; maintaining awareness of all claims advised while supporting and providing input on settlement of claims; building and maintaining relationships with brokers and clients; supporting the design and structure of risks.
