Job description

Lecturer in Paramedic Practice at Telford Campus(with ability to work across other university campuses)

We are seeking to appoint an enthusiastic healthcare professional to join our paramedic team and contribute to the provision of high-quality teaching within the School of Allied Health and Midwifery. You will teach primarily across modules on the pre-registration paramedic programmes, including apprenticeship, professional pathway, and undergraduate nursing pathways. You may also be asked to teach on relevant post-registration CPD courses. You will need to be committed to the maintenance of high academic standards and enhancement of the student experience and be prepared to contribute to the development of the faculty’s portfolio of courses, linking with relevant external partners, and the generation of external income for the university.

We are committed to improving diversity in our paramedic teaching team and would welcome applications from global majority candidates. We are happy to consider applications for part-time working for those who are unable or not ready to commit to a full-time career in higher education at this stage of their career.

You will be educated to a minimum of a bachelor’s degree level or equivalent and preferably have completed, or be willing to work towards, a master’s qualification. You will hold current registration with the HCPC as a paramedic practitioner and have significant clinical experience. Experience of teaching in a clinical or academic setting is essential, and candidates with a research profile are welcomed. Dedication to innovative teaching and research activities within paramedic practice are also a requirement of the post, to contribute towards the paramedic portfolio and the profile of the faculty.

You will be supported to complete the post-graduate certificate in education as a mandatory requirement of your future employment. A range of other CPD courses are available for you to study.
