Job description

The VAT Compliance Manager will be responsible for:

VAT Compliance:
  • Managing the VAT compliance of the Group including the preparation and submission of UK and European VAT returns on a timely basis.
  • Balance sheet reconciliation of VAT accounts.
  • Filing Intrastat and other VAT statistical returns on a timely basis for the Group entities.
Process Improvements:
  • Working closely with the VAT team to develop processes across the group, ensuring appropriate financial controls are in place and documenting all of the critical processes within the compliance cycle.
  • Supporting with improvements to the ongoing VAT processes.
  • Working with the VAT team to implement improvements and changes in processes into the day-to-day compliance cycle.
Experience Required:
  • Hold a tax qualification (CTA or ATT) or accounting qualification (ICAEW/ICAS) or recognised equivalent.
  • Strong VAT compliance experience, gained from previous experience in an in-house team.
  • Knowledge of the indirect tax and customs requirements and consequences on the movement of goods.
