Assistant Landscape Contracts Manager

Location: South East England

Salary: £40,000 - £50,000 per annum + company van, fuel card, kit, package

Position: Assistant Contracts Manager, Full-time Permanent

Days of work: Mon-Fri

Hours of work: 8:00am to 5:00pm

About the Client: Our client is an award-winning landscaping and civil engineering specialist delivering high-quality projects throughout the UK. Their portfolio spans all sectors from local authorities, royal parks, commercial developers, schools, and universities to high-end luxury developers.

Due to continued growth, they are seeking an Assistant Contracts Manager with previous experience in supporting the management and delivery of multi-disciplinary commercial Hard & Soft landscape projects, ensuring timely completion and budget adherence.

The Role:

To assist in managing the flow of information and documentation between site, operational, commercial, and management functions to support the timely delivery and completion of commercial landscape and civils projects.

Responsibilities:

1. Support contract managers to achieve completion of contracts on time and to specification.
2. Assist in ensuring gross margins are maintained on contracts.
3. Support contract managers in the management of sub-contractors and direct labour.
4. Support contract managers in the procurement and management of resources (plant, equipment, and materials).
5. Assist to ensure delivery of contracts in line with health, safety, quality, and environmental standards.
6. Conduct safety, quality, and environmental audits.
7. Support contract managers in the production and ongoing development of construction phase plans.
8. Production/Review of RAMS.
9. Collate and prepare O&M manuals.
10. Support contract managers in the production and management of programmes of work.
11. Maintain site records.
12. Ensure effective client/project team communication and relationship building.
13. Adopt a proactive approach to contract delivery, highlighting potential problems and proposing solutions.
14. Support contract managers in the production of monthly progress reports.
15. Support contract managers in the production of monthly valuations.
16. Attend site and site meetings as required.
17. Compile and record RFIs, AIs, and RVIs.
18. Assist in project reviews at the end of each project.

What We Are Looking For:

1. Proven track record within the construction/landscaping industry, commercially minded, adept at managing site managers and subcontractors.
2. Full UK Driver's License
3. SSSTS
4. SMSTS (Preferred)
