We have a current opportunity for a Trade Control Analyst on a permanent basis. The position will be based in London.

KEY RESPONSIBILITY AREAS

  1. Perform daily validation activities, making sure all physical and financial energy transactions (potential focus on Gas, Power and Emissions and LNG) are duly and timely captured and validated according to the company procedures.
  2. Perform daily validation activities of relevant price information (spot/forward), making sure all relevant market data information is duly and timely validated according to the company procedures.
  3. Support the physical and financial transactions end of day process in the relevant ETRM systems guaranteeing the timely generation of Position and PNL reporting.
  4. Perform checks on unauthorized trades and monitoring of trader mandates/limits.
  5. Perform daily market conformity controls to monitor both physical and financial transactions.
  6. Ensure compliance with all internal and external regulations.
  7. Guarantee the necessary activity related to the month-end and quarter-end checks for physical and financial energy transactions (potential focus on Gas, Power and Emissions and LNG).
  8. Support automation efforts by driving greater use of systems within the Trade Control team, eliminating manual spreadsheets and fully support the implementation of relevant controls directly into the trade capture systems.
  9. Guarantee the appropriate level of support to Middle Office function for what concerns New Products/Non-Standard initiatives' approval.
  10. Monitor procedural compliance for the new Financial Regulations (EMIR/Dodd Franck/REMIT/MiFID II) on first level control execution (reporting, reconciliation).
  11. Act as a back-up to cover other trade control members across the Trade Control team.
  12. Support digitalization process of team's activities, from design thinking to implementation, acting as point of reference for IT team.

CANDIDATE SPECIFICATIONS

  1. University MSc (or above) in Economics, Finance, Statistics, Mathematics, Physics or Engineering disciplines;
  2. Relevant experience (2-3 years) in market risk/product control role in trading companies or banks;
  3. Strong knowledge of derivatives trading;
  4. Strong knowledge of the LNG, Power and Emissions markets and their main dynamics;
  5. Good knowledge of risk metrics such as VaR, stress testing and scenario analysis;
  6. Knowledge of one or more ETRM systems would be an advantage (especially Endur by Open Link);
  7. Strong and solid knowledge of MS Office suite including excellent Excel and VBA skills;
  8. Python, Matlab & SQL knowledge is a plus;
  9. Highly organized with a good attention to detail;
  10. Strong communication and interpersonal skills;
  11. Strong analytical and numerical skills;
  12. Ability to work with tight deadlines;
  13. Proactive with a positive attitude;
  14. Results-oriented approach;
  15. Ability to build and nurture effective relationships internally and externally;
  16. Teamwork and experience in working in an international and multi-location organization.
