Medical Education is a well-established team made up of Doctors, Clinical Educators and Administration Staff. A unique opportunity has arisen for a Simulation Technical Assistant to join at a very exciting time of expansion.
Are you enthusiastic about using your technical and communication skills to make a difference to patient care and safety? Do you have a creative and imaginative mindset? If so, we would like to hear from you. We deliver and design simulation-based education to give healthcare staff and medical students the opportunity to learn, rehearse and perfect clinical skills and team-working. You will be an integral member of the team that supports the technical and administrative service provision.
This post will suit individuals who can be versatile in working in different environments and those who are able to work within a team as well as independently. You should have the ability to create and maintain working relationships with all levels of healthcare professionals. You will be working within a small team of clinical educators where you will be expected to identify workload as well as being given tasks to complete.
Although you will be based mainly at the Victoria Hospital in Kirkcaldy, it offers the opportunity to work with healthcare professionals, students and other faculty across multiple sites, and you should be able to travel to different sites within NHS Fife if required.
You should have excellent interpersonal and communication skills as well as enjoy problem-solving and troubleshooting technical challenges. You should be competent in the use of Microsoft Office as part of administration duties of the role and can move and set up large pieces of equipment needed for education. Training will be offered in the use of simulated manikins, task trainers, AV equipment and other mechanical or electronic devices used within this role.
