Chroma is currently working with a prominent high street retailer who is looking for a Lead Data Engineer to join their growing team in Manchester.

Offering up to £90K with excellent benefits and hybrid working (3 days per week on site), this is an excellent opportunity for someone keen to get involved in the early stages of strategic data projects and deliver robust data solutions.

The company is a well-known retailer with hundreds of shops across the UK, France and the USA. They have built a strong reputation over the years, and they are currently evolving from a traditional retailer into a customer-centric, digitally driven business. As a Lead Data Engineer you will join a newly established team tasked with enabling the company to unlock the value of its data. You will build scalable and reliable data pipelines to power analytics, reporting, and strategic decision making. As a Data Engineer you will have the opportunity to utilise cutting edge data tools to design and implement robust data solutions.

Required Skills/Experience:

• Working experience with or certifications in Snowflake
• At least 3 years’ experience working with Azure data products
• At least 1 year in lead or senior data engineer position
• Leadership/mentoring experience
• MS SQL expertise (querying, transforming, and managing datasets)
• Python competency
• Proficient in version control tools (ideally Git)
• Experience in the retail industry
• Experience with GCP (Dataflow and BigQuery)
• Experience creating CI/CD pipelines
