About Our Client

My client is a globally recognised leader in their industry, known for their commitment to innovation and operational excellence. The company is dedicated to ensuring financial stability and strategic growth while maintaining strong relationships with both internal and external stakeholders. As they continue to expand and optimise their financial infrastructure, my client is looking to appoint a Treasury Manager with a prime emphasis on credit risk, to oversee and optimise their credit allocation and financing activities.

Job Description

This Credit Risk focused Treasury Manager will play a crucial role in optimising the company's capital structure by managing credit allocations across various financial instruments. This role will involve overseeing the debt structure on the balance sheet, leading credit conversations with banking partners, and supporting the management of forward sales exposure with card acquirers. The successful candidate will ensure that all credit activities are compliant with internal policies and external financial covenants, while contributing to strategic financing projects.

Key Responsibilities

  • Credit Reporting and Management
Provide high-quality reporting on the company's credit position, both written and oral, to the Financial Risk Committee on a quarterly basis. Proactively assess trends in credit and identify risks to credit limits, proposing solutions to mitigate these risks.
  • Card Acquiror Exposure
Track card acquiror exposure on a weekly/monthly basis to ensure compliance with facility limits. Manage relationships with card acquiror credit teams and ensure critical compliance with CCA requirements, while supporting senior leadership in credit-related conversations.
  • Creditor Relationship Management
Act as the primary contact for managing relationships with external financial counterparties, including financial institutions, hedging counterparties, and regulators. Work cross-functionally with other departments to understand and communicate credit requirements, ensuring optimal credit terms are negotiated.
  • Investor Management and Reporting Cycle
Lead the annual Investor Day/Roadshow and collaborate with internal teams to develop presentations that highlight the company's performance and financial outlook. Manage the flow of financial information to investors, ensuring that communication with external stakeholders is efficient and consistent.
  • Regulatory and Compliance Updates
Monitor and ensure compliance with relevant regulatory requirements, including financial impact modelling for changes such as the LIBOR transition. Work closely with internal legal counsel to execute necessary documentation and manage external legal counsel when required.
  • Credit Instrument Optimisation
Lead initiatives to optimise the deployment of available credit, focusing on protecting free cash and identifying financing opportunities within the working capital cycle. Develop strategies to streamline credit instruments, ensuring terms are favourable to the company.
  • Financial Covenants Compliance
Monitor and identify risks to debt covenants, ensuring compliance across all lending structures. Coordinate valuation exercises and work with credit rating agencies to drive improvements in the company's credit ratings.
  • Financing Activity
Support new financing activities, including financing and debt restructuring. Liaise with external financial and legal advisors, ensuring smooth project execution and communication of project updates to senior management and stakeholders.

The Successful Applicant

The ideal candidate will possess the following qualifications and experience:

  • A strong financial qualification (AMCT, Qualified Accountant, CFA, or equivalent).
  • At least 5 years of post-qualification experience in credit risk management, treasury, or related fields.
  • Proven experience in managing relationships with banks, lenders, and financial counter-parties.
  • Expertise in financial modelling, credit evaluation, and assessing various types of credit access.
  • Experience with negotiating financial contracts (e.g., Letters of Credit, facility agreements).
  • Strong communication and presentation skills, with the ability to influence senior stakeholders and external counterparts.
  • Ability to think strategically while maintaining a strong focus on day-to-day financial management.

What's on Offer

This is an excellent opportunity to join a dynamic and forward-thinking organisation offering a competitive salary in the £60,000 to £70,000 range and a comprehensive benefits package, including bonus and strong pension offering. My client provides a collaborative work environment with opportunities for growth and development within a global leader in the sector. Hybrid working arrangement of 2,3 days in office. You will be involved in high-profile projects and have a direct impact on the company's financial strategy, while working closely with senior leadership teams and external partners.
