"Hands on" Estate & House Manager Couple for Cornwall, 2 bed accom, £80k

Current couple retiring after 8 years recommend this super role looking after a stunning estate set in 100 acres on the coast in rural Cornwall.

An appreciative family, who are in residence for approximately 4 months of the year, are looking for a hands-on experienced and proactive couple to oversee all aspects of running the property (with 3 other part-time staff employed). The part-time staff assist with housekeeping, changeover for the holiday lets, gardening and boat handling.

The main residence is a seven-bedroom house, and there are 2 Airbnb properties also within the estate which comprises extensive gardens, agricultural land, and a private beach. The couple will take charge of the day-to-day management, liaising with contractors and working hands-on to ensure the smooth operation of the house, grounds, and associated activities.

Key Responsibilities

Household Management:

1. Hands-on housekeeping and cleaning to a high standard.
2. Coordinate and manage part-time Housekeeper.
3. No cooking required.

Grounds and Garden Support:

1. Assist with general garden upkeep.
2. Manage and maintain the estate’s grounds.

Boats and Holiday Lets:

1. Maintain and look after principals' boats. Any experience with boats would be a bonus but not essential.
2. Manage/oversee 2 holiday lets on the estate.

Maintenance:

1. Ensure regular maintenance schedules are adhered to for the house and grounds.

It is essential that both drive due to the remote location. This role would best suit a domestic couple with strong organizational and management skills, together with a proactive, flexible, and hands-on approach. An excellent track record and references are essential.

Working Hours

1. Standard: 5-day week, 40 hours.
2. Flexibility to work 6 days per week with longer hours during peak periods in the summer, with time off taken in lieu during quieter months.

2-bed accommodation with a private garden is offered as staff accommodation. Well-behaved pets are welcome, but it is regrettable that it is not suitable for dependents.
