Job description

Coyle Personnel, one of the UK's leading family-run staffing solutions providers, is seeking a highly skilled and proactive Multi-Skilled Maintenance Engineer to join our Facilities Management sector. This mobile role will cover commercial contracts across Cambridge and Norfolk, offering an excellent opportunity to work within a dedicated team delivering high-quality facilities management services.


As a Multi-Skilled Maintenance Engineer, you will be responsible for conducting planned and reactive maintenance across a range of building systems, including electrical, mechanical, HVAC, and plumbing. The ideal candidate will have a strong electrical bias with expertise in testing, fault finding, and general building maintenance.


Responsibilities:
  1. Carry out planned preventative maintenance (PPM) and reactive maintenance on electrical systems, HVAC plant, AHUs, boilers, and plumbing infrastructure.
  2. Perform fault-finding, testing, and inspections, ensuring all work is completed in accordance with company and statutory procedures.
  3. Conduct water temperature checks, boiler maintenance, and basic plumbing repairs.
  4. Carry out small project installations and remedial works as required.
  5. Complete risk assessments and ensure all tasks are performed safely with consideration for health, safety, and environmental regulations.
  6. Identify replacement parts, obtain costs, and process orders via the company's procurement system.
  7. Support Contract Managers and Supervisors as needed.
  8. Identify and recommend additional works to clients and regularly submit extra works estimate sheets.
  9. Maintain the company's professional image by wearing and upkeeping the uniform.

Requirements:
  1. 18th Edition (BS 7671) and 2391 Inspection & Testing qualification.
  2. Proven experience in commercial building maintenance, including AHUs, boilers, plumbing, and HVAC systems.
  3. Strong understanding of health and safety regulations within the industry, with the ability to implement control measures on-site.
  4. Full UK driving licence (company vehicle provided).
  5. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  6. Proactive and methodical approach to problem-solving.
