Job description

Flagstone is many things: an online savings platform, reinventing how individuals, businesses, and charities manage, protect, and grow their cash. A diverse group of people, bound by a collaborative spirit and shared purpose. And lastly, a thriving, profitable business – where smart people do their best work.

Each definition shares a common thread: our unique culture. It’s our pride and joy and our competitive advantage.

A feel for our culture

To revolutionise the savings market, we need to be at our best. But high performance takes more than talent – it takes a culture of kindness, respect, and growth.

That’s why we’re building a diverse, inclusive community, where your voice is heard and valued. With close support and room to develop, you can surpass even your own expectations and be rewarded for it.

We may not change the world, but we can change the world of financial technology. And all it takes is a winning mix of drive, talent, and empathy. Our culture celebrates all three.

Does this sound like you?

You are a passionate and strategic people manager, who has experience developing a strong sales team. You enjoy nurturing and setting your team up for success and want to work for a growing scale-up that’s forging a new way in the Fintech space.

What you’ll do:

You’ll lead and inspire a team of Business Development Managers, ensuring our customer-facing sales strategy is implemented and delivered day to day. You’ll be responsible for the effective performance management and coaching of the team to meet and exceed targets. You will drive a performance culture that leads to top line growth by enabling the Sales team to deliver best in class service in line with Flagstone’s strategy.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Strategy: Support the Operations Manager by providing subject matter expertise. Contribute to implementing the BD strategy across Flagstone and managing it day to day, using internal and external data to guide tactical decision making.
  • Team/People Management: Lead and inspire a team of Business Development Managers to achieve exceptional results via regular, timely and constructive feedback. Provide a nurturing environment of openness and honesty. Manage all performance conversations with empathy, data, and honesty.
  • Sales Operations: Responsible for key Business Development processes, including lead generation, effective lead follow-up, and conversion of opportunities to drive new accounts and revenue generating assets into the business.
  • Culture: Foster a culture of accountability, teamwork, and continuous improvement to maximise the impact and effectiveness of the sales team. Drive a high performance culture and be accountable for your own performance and overall team performance.
  • Risk Management: Responsible for acting in line with companywide risk measures and delivering data and insights into the function activity. Ensure that customer centric outcomes are aligned to our strategy and risk appetite.
  • Process Efficiency and Optimisation: Drive internal operational consistencies for Sales related processes.
  • Stakeholder Management: Responsible for developing and maintaining excellent customer and internal and external stakeholder relationships. Work closely with our Marketing, CRM, Operations, Banks, and Product teams.

What you’ll bring:

  • Experience managing a team and driving high performance
  • Strong analytical skills and the ability to interpret data to inform decisions
  • Experience dealing with difficult conversations and the ability to challenge/push back
  • A coaching and mentoring mindset
  • Target and results driven
  • Positive mindset and a can-do attitude
  • Strong communication and relationship building skills

How we reward you:

At Flagstone, the benefits extend beyond false gifts like “fruit and snacks”. Instead, we invest in your health, wealth, and professional development. Here’s a selection of our benefits:

  • Life insurance (four times your annual salary)
  • Dental/optical care
  • Matched pension contributions (5%)
  • Income protection
  • Around the World in 90 days (remote working possibility)
  • £1,000 annual learning bursary
  • Remote working kit, for when you're not in the office
  • Access to our platform, at no cost
  • Additional 3 days community and charity leave each year
  • Quarterly half days for Wellness leave
  • Flexible bank holidays

All are welcome.

At Flagstone, we’re assembling a diverse team that defies our industry’s norms. Think this role could suit you? We encourage you to apply, no matter your background.
