Responsibilities
  • Assists the Nurse Manager in assessment, skill proficiency evaluation, equipment and supply management, patient satisfaction initiatives, staffing and scheduling.
  • Supports the Nurse Manager in overseeing the unit.
  • Assists with the management of personnel processes, including but not limited to hiring, training, performance evaluations and disciplinary actions.
  • Participates in the development and implementation of performance improvement plans.
  • Ensures compliance with all relevant policies, procedures and regulations.
  • Effectively communicates information to staff, patients, and other stakeholders.
  • Assists the Nurse Manager in making timely decisions and managing change processes.
  • Collaborates with all departments as part of the management team.
  • Utilizes a personal cell phone for business purposes.
Qualifications
  • Acute care nursing experience (3-5 years preferred) in similar clinical specialty
  • Charge Nurse, Coordinator or supervisory experience a plus
Competencies Skills
  • Experience in hospital or acute care setting.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality regarding patients and team members.
  • Ability to manage crisis situations effectively.
  • Proven ability to provide excellent customer service to patients, team members, and visitors.
  • Knowledge and experience with electronic health records.
Credentials

Essential:

  • RN license
  • Basic Life Saving (BLS) certification (American Heart Association)
  • Advanced Cardiac Life Saving (ACLS) certification
  • NIH Stroke Certification
Education

Essential:

  • BSN in Nursing or RN diploma/RN graduate program with Bachelor's Degree in a related field
  • Active pursuit of MSN if not possessing a BSN
