Bloomberg News is one of the biggest financial and business news organizations in the world. We lead the way in breaking news and providing analysis on financial markets, from daily coverage through to in-depth features. We are known for our quality, accuracy and ability to deliver news investors can use. It’s what keeps us inventing and re-inventing, all the time.

We are looking for an ambitious Senior Editor to help build its coverage of private markets -- from the new titans of finance in the $1.6 trillion private credit industry to the buyout kings that paved the way and the investment bankers trying to remain relevant.

You will helm a twice-a-week newsletter that looks to explain why so much investor cash is shifting out of the public eye, who's getting rich in the process and the risks that are emerging for global financial markets. You'll also work across Bloomberg's Credit and Finance teams to help shepherd breaking news.

When not on deadline, you'll be cultivating story ideas with reporters and driving impactful enterprise that reveals the most important trends in these opaque corners of the market.

We'll trust you to:

1. Grow Bloomberg's Going Private newsletter into a definitive source for consumers of private markets news
2. Motivate reporters to stretch themselves to break ever bigger scoops and produce stories that hold companies to account, challenge perceptions and effect change
3. Work with reporters to deliver compelling, accurate and expertly edited narratives that resonate with terminal, magazine and web readers
4. Maintain a culture of urgency, innovation and strong news judgement
5. Build influential relationships across the newsroom to get things done and ensure our coverage is packaged well across platforms
6. Demonstrate level-headedness and decisive leadership in a fast-paced, dynamic news environment

You'll need to have:

1. Outstanding news judgement and strong editing skills
2. A record of motivating reporters to break big scoops, developing and editing deeply reported narratives
3. A demonstrated ability to break down silos and communicate across teams, groups, platforms and regions

2. A record of mentoring, coaching and advocating for reporters and their work
