Junior product developer

Lee Broom is looking for a junior product developer to join its team in London.

Lee Broom is one of the UK’s leading product designers and a global design brand. Since founding the company in 2007, Lee Broom has built a highly regarded international brand creating over 120 different lighting furniture and accessories all designed, manufactured and retailed under the Lee Broom brand name. Our collections are showcased at our flagship showrooms in London and New York and retailed in over 200 stores in 50 countries worldwide and we exhibit regularly in London, Milan and New York.

We are seeking a dedicated and talented junior product developer to join our dynamic team. The successful candidate will play a key role in our product development team. This is a great opportunity if you are proactive, ambitious with excellent CAD skills who is passionate about design and eager to contribute to our ongoing success. This role will suit you if have recently graduated or are in the early stages of your career.

Key responsibilities:

• Support the development of lighting, furniture and home accessory products at all stages including initial concept, prototyping, technical specification and into full production.
• Design, develop and create detailed drawings and track production of components and products for manufacture by our network of suppliers in UK, Europe and worldwide.
• Prepare key technical information for use by architects & interior designers in UK, EU, USA and the rest of world.
• Support CE and UL certification of our products which are assembled at our own UL certified factory in east London.
• Support our award-winning exhibitions in Milan, New York and London.

Essential skills and experience:

• Great portfolio demonstrating your technical skills and excellent CAD skills.
• Efficient, well organised with excellent project management skills and able to prioritise and work on multiple projects.
• High level of numeracy and literacy in English and able to work in the UK.
• Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced dynamic environment.
• Passion for design and a keen eye for detail.

As the ideal candidate you will:

• Be highly proficient in Solidworks or Inventor, InDesign, Illustrator and Photoshop.
• Have an excellent degree result if recently graduated and/or one year’s experience in a company producing similar types of luxury quality products.
• Have experience of working in lighting and knowledge of technical elements of lighting.
• Be enthusiastic, energetic, enjoy hitting deadlines and solving problems.
• Be flexible, enjoy a challenge and do whatever it takes to get the job done.
