Field Service Engineer

Our client is on the lookout for Field Service Engineers and Technicians to join them on a permanent basis. This will be a remote role, but with a fair amount of travel across England, so you will need to live within a commutable distance to their sites.

The Field Service Engineers will perform preventative maintenance, troubleshooting and warranty repairs along with commissioning activities on energy storage units at various BESS sites.

THE SUCCESSFUL APPLICANT

Essential requirements:

1. Qualification in an electrical / electro-mechanical discipline
2. Previous electrical or multi skilled maintenance experience
3. Full UK drivers license.
4. Basic IT skills (Word Processing, Outlook, Excel, IP and software for troubleshooting)
5. Qualification of working on Site safely
6. This role involves travelling to different sites. Overnight stay or international travel may be required.

Desirable requirements:

1. Working experience with BESS with working knowledge of HV/LV power electronics including inverters / converters / Transformers.
2. Previous HVAC training and F-Gas qualification
3. Strong understanding of IT related subjects, CMD, remote desktop connections, networking (subnet, VLANs, static IP/DHCP), MODBUS/TCP protocols
4. C&G2391-5 Test & Inspect or equivalent
5. Familiar with SANS 10142-1 standard
6. HV authorised person

JOB DESCRIPTION

1. Maintain Energy Storage Systems to a high standard by carrying out regular inspection and maintenance, annual capacity tests, trouble shooting and reactive maintenance works
2. Perform system software and firmware upgrades
3. Monitor operation performance monitoring and data assessment
4. Provide phone support and remote diagnostics to customers
5. Troubleshoot equipment located at BESS sites
6. Manage spare parts
7. Responsible for safety work complying with local safety regulations and safety standards
8. Conduct risk assessment and implement safety measures
9. Keep up to date with any administrative duties such as timesheets, daily vehicle checks and providing daily job logs describing issues and actions taken during service trips
10. Assist the in-house system engineering group in product development and/or project work
11. Provide suggestions based on field experience, to improve the products

REMUNERATION PACKAGE ON OFFER

Salary circa £48,000 - £50,000 (depending on experience).

Full training, company van (business use only), sim card, fuel card and laptop will be provided.
