Your role: We have an opportunity for a senior consumer reporter to join our award-winning Consumer team. The successful candidate will be an integral member of The Sun's money and consumer team.

We need a talented, committed journalist to become a key member of this team.

Day to day you will:

  1. Pitch and write splash-worthy exclusives, breaking news and long-form features online, in Sun Club and in print
  2. Work collaboratively with the Consumer team to identify new trends and issues, helping to identify investigations and campaigns
  3. Bundles of consumer knowledge and the ability to challenge companies and fight for reader's rights
  4. Bags of ideas and the ability to generate exclusives from your own sources and contacts
  5. Help to create news lists and support the consumer news editor

What we are looking for from you:

  1. Online or print reporting experience in a newsroom
  2. Experience using Wordpress or similar CMS system to build content digitally
  3. Excellent writing skills with the ability to write clean copy to tight deadlines
  4. A passion for The Sun and understanding of the brand in print and online
  5. Being a self-starter is key - and you will need to thrive under the pressure of a busy newsroom
  6. Enthusiasm, imagination and a notebook full of ideas are all essential
  7. Unflappable under pressure and delivers work at a consistently high standard
  8. Positive attitude and good team player
  9. Experience of presenting on video about personal finance topics
  10. Experience working collaboratively with multidisciplinary teams
  11. Have a thorough knowledge of the IPSO Code of Conduct, media law and ethical considerations
  12. At least one year's experience as a reporter or journalist
