An established design consultancy is seeking a skilled C & I Engineer to contribute to highly regulated projects across various industries. C & I Engineer - Stockport - Highly Regulated Projects - 12 Month Contract - £Neg - Outside IR35
An established design consultancy who focus on projects across various industries including Chemicals, Nuclear, Food, FMCG and distilleries are looking for an experienced C & I engineer. The role will be predominantly based in Greater Manchester.
Good experience with EI&C design to comply with BS 7671 and BS EN 60079 explosive atmospheres is essential. A working knowledge of functional safety and BS EN 61511 would be advantageous. The successful applicant will have previously worked “on site” with the ability to interface with clients and carry out site surveys / attend client meetings.
The main role will be the production of E,I & C design deliverables such as:
The ability to prepare detailed design packages including Instrument and actuated valve specifications, BCD's, schedules, loop diagrams and installation scopes is preferable. A working knowledge of AutoCAD would also be beneficial as well as experience of the design, application and installation of mainstream and specialised Instrumentation equipment. LV electrical systems knowledge is required. Experience of PLC control systems would also be beneficial.
The successful contractor will be self-motivated and able to work with minimal guidance, be commercially aware and can identify design issues and provide suitable solutions. The role may involve some travel to visit client sites. The applicant will need a full UK driving licence and use of their own vehicle.
The role is based on a standard 40-hr week, contract for 6-12 months duration with potential to extend. Immediate start for the successful applicant. Travel expenses would be additional to the normal hourly rate.
