Job Description:
The ESCM is responsible for electrical supervision and commissioning management services of solar projects. The role is site based and will follow projects around the UK only.
The main purpose of the role is to ensure that projects are following the design & quality standards, are safely commissioned to put into operation and can be handed over.
- To manage, supervise and realise the construction of the Electrical System of the solar plant and the related grid interconnection works of the project.
- To assure a safe, reliable, and high-quality implementation of the electrical share of construction works.
- Quality assurance for all electrical installations on-site (main components, DC/AC, LV/MV/HV, communication systems installations).
- To manage and create the Commissioning plan of the project and coordinate Commissioning Teams from suppliers and subcontractors.
- To execute the testing and commissioning planning of the solar power plants.
- To align with grid operators, utilities, and external parties and authorities, to achieve a safe, on-time and in budget, energisation, and operation of the project.
- Review and comment on the realisation electrical drawings prior to the commencement of construction.
- Coordinate with the electrical designers and grid managers of IBV for the correct implementation of the design, specifications, and requirements for the construction of the solar plant.
- Find out, list, and monitor the fulfilment of all relevant codes and standards of the respective scope.
- Constantly align with IBV to ensure best possible project realisation.
- Coordinate electrical subcontractors during design and execution of projects in cooperation with the on-site team.
Qualifications:
- Electrical Engineering degree is preferred.
- Minimum of 3 years of relevant industry experience in solar or renewable industry.
- In-depth knowledge of electrical components and norms.
- Ability to manage stakeholders (contractors, suppliers, DNOs).
- Experience in developing commissioning plans.
- Experience in commissioning testing LV/HV AC and DC circuits.
- Experience managing commissioning documentation.
- Strong understanding of cabling, transformers, inverters, earthing, SCADA.
- HV SAP experience will be considered a plus.
- The ESC Manager must have all the mandatory Electrical construction certifications, according to local National regulations and/or Associations, for them to be allowed to work in a PV plant, including any related MV/HV grid infrastructure and perform the above.
- English is mandatory, both written and oral.
