Maintenance Supervisor

Aylesford, Kent - Onsite (Full-time, Permanent) 8:30am - 5pm, Monday - Friday.

What is a Maintenance Supervisor at Prinova?

A Maintenance Supervisor will be responsible for supervising all Engineering and Facility activities across both of our Aylesford sites through a mixture of hands on and delegatory means. You will be a mentor and coach for the team and provide leadership and direction in all activities whilst providing a strong support service for all departments.

You should expect to work closely with the Health & Safety representative to manage all legal compliance duties. You will liaise with Operations and General Manager regarding on site development and projects.

What to expect?

• Efficiently supervise and provide support to the team of technicians on any technical matters.
• Improve service delivery performance and reduce costs where possible.
• Monitor and report on KPI's for department.
• Undertake engineer audits for machinery where necessary.
• Deliver Tool Box Talks.
• Manage all aspects of engineering in relation to all works, from planning to completion.
• Develop practices, routines and solutions to help improve productivity and product quality.
• Perform risk assessments.
• Take ownership of the site T-card reporting system for maintenance and breakdown reports and delegate tasks to the team.
• Implement the New FIXX system within engineering and on the site.
• Develop new health and safety policy procedures in line with existing rules and regulations.
• Support and conduct in-house training sessions to teach employees about best practice and safe systems of work.
• Keep records up to date.
• Active involvement in continuous improvements as needed and guided by the Operations or General Manager.
• Ensure food hygiene and food safety standards are upheld at all times.
• Any other tasks as requested by the Operations or General Manager.

Work conditions & physical requirements

• Ability to wear any required PPE;
• Other physical requirements include bi-lateral hand and wrist movement and occasional squatting, bending, and twisting;
• Ability to work around a variation of different smells and aromas;
• Some manual handling requirements.

Does this sound like you?

• Formal engineering qualification.
• Electrical and mechanical installation experience required.
• Good understanding of health and safety practices, champions this across site and looks out for others. IOSH or higher.
• Good hydraulic knowledge.
• Good pneumatic knowledge.
• Good knowledge of food safety expectations and upholds them to ensure we never risk our products.
• Experience of working in a FMCG environment.
• Experience of incident investigation and report writing.
• Experience of written risk assessments.
• Experience of inspection and audit.
• Ability to deliver effective training.
• Ability to work quickly and under pressure to achieve results in a timely and efficient manner.
• Willing team player.
• Self-motivated and keen attitude to do more than expected and deliver excellent standards.
• Strong ability to motivate others.
• Ability to build both internal and external relationships at all levels.
• Ability to delegate.
• Excellent written and oral communication skills.
• Excellent numeracy skills.
• IT literate (Microsoft Word, Outlook and Excel mainly).
