Commercial Manager - Shipping & Offshore (Maritime Technology Sales)

The Opportunity:

We're on the lookout for a dynamic Commercial Manager to join our international technology sales team, driving the growth of our shipping and offshore applications portfolio in the EMEA & Americas region. Ideally situated in London you'll directly report to the VP of Shipping and Offshore. Your role entails taking ownership of shipping and offshore sales in EMEA/Americas, where you'll not only identify and nurture new sales opportunities but also foster growth with existing and new customers across our targeted geographies.

Leveraging a combination of technology evangelism, networking prowess, and solution-selling methodologies to align our offerings with customer needs, you'll be instrumental in positioning Pole Star Global as the foremost provider of technology solutions for maritime operators in the region.

As a self-starter with a wealth of experience spanning all stages of the sales pipeline, from prospecting to closing, you bring valuable expertise in building a personal business network and effectively managing channel partners and enterprise-wide relationships within the shipping & offshore domain.

Your pivotal role extends to driving growth in the region, involving the development and implementation of effective sales strategies, management of a high-performing sales team, and the establishment of robust relationships with key clients and partners. Responsibilities:
  • Delivering an annual sales quota of $600K in NNARR
  • Introductory and discovery meetings
  • Management of own pipeline of prospects from lead generation to paying customer
  • Responding to all inbound sales enquiries in a timely manner
  • Identification of new business opportunities in the territory
  • Systematic research to generate high quality leads and identify key players
  • Engaging directly with decision makers
  • Maintaining accurate and complete customer records, activity records, KPI and pipeline reports
  • Attending trade-conferences and industry events
Requirements:
  • Solid experience in SaaS based sales to large enterprises - Maritime Preferred
  • Proven success in delivering a sales quota of over $600k per annum
  • Experience selling enterprise software at C-level
  • Ability to manage long and complex sales cycles with multiple stakeholders
  • General working knowledge of the industries we sell to: Banking (Trade Finance and Ship Finance), Commodity trade, Oil & Gas trade, Maritime trade
  • Networking and negotiation skills
  • Excellent verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills
  • Self-motivation with the ability to work in a fast-paced, changing environment
  • Desire and ability to exceed targets and supplement their pipeline with additional lead-generation activity
  • Existing senior and C-Level contacts in the shipping industry (Shipping companies/ managers / owners) would be advantageous
