We are on the lookout for new talent to join our team based in the Bristol depot as a Project Engineer, responsible for project engineering all aspects of specific heavy maintenance contracts.

What you will be doing:

Reporting into the Heavy Maintenance Manager, you will be responsible for carrying out day-to-day tasks that cover the production, utilization, and governance of project process deliverables. Duties will include but are not limited to:

  1. Adherence to and delivery of all relevant tasks as detailed in ATC-1098 Heavy Maintenance Process Document and support with the continual improvement of the document processes.
  2. Responsible for ensuring that the start/end of shift processes are carried out and supported as required.
  3. Creation of heavy maintenance block cards and work instructions.
  4. Creation of the project work breakdown structure (WBS) and production plans.
  5. Ensuring the correct VMI’s, VOI’s, and ATC work instructions and all relevant Project documentation are available for the production team and are being used to carry out HM workstream tasks.
  6. Work closely with the project teams performing the heavy maintenance to ensure the timely resolution of material or obsolescence issues, including the creation and close out of technical queries with the customer.
  7. Creation and delivery of toolbox talks/single point lessons that arise through the Project life-cycle.
  8. Leading the daily production meeting with the Team Leader and Material Planner, ensuring that the relevant trackers are updated.
  9. Maintenance of Microsoft project plans.
  10. Supporting the Heavy Maintenance Manager in the delivery of assigned heavy maintenance contracts.
  11. Support the HM Manager in the recruitment of staff.
  12. Manage the interaction and delivery of external services/subcontractors.

What do you need to apply?

  • City and Guilds/BTEC certificate in Engineering.
  • Previous experience in a heavy maintenance project engineering role.
  • Good understanding of traction and rolling stock systems.
  • Previous experience, involvement, and understanding of rail vehicle heavy maintenance activities is advantageous.
  • Full and valid driving licence.
