Job description

Afternoon Shift IT Support Team Leader – Hybrid Working

Express Recruitment are proud to be working with a growing IT managed services firm based in Sheffield, who are looking to hire a First Line Support Team Leader to join their team on a full time, hybrid, and permanent basis. They cultivate an environment that allows all their staff to make an impact on the company whilst allowing for a healthy work-life balance, making this role ideal for a Team Leader with a background within Service Desk Support.

The successful candidate will inspire, mentor and manage First Line Support Engineers, along with delivering training sessions for new products and tools. They will also identify areas for improvement, smoothen out workflows, and boost company efficiency. The role requires a minimum of 3 days of work at their Sheffield-based office.

Their ideal candidate will have previous experience as a Team Leader, along with a professional background in Service Desk Support (ideally at an MSP firm). They will be confident resolving conflicts, delegating work, providing feedback, conducting performance reviews and managing workloads in a fast paced environment. Additionally, they will have knowledge of operating systems, including Windows, Mac, and Linux, along with an understanding of switching using LAN and WAN technologies.

The position involves working the afternoon shift running from 12:00pm till 9:00pm.

In return, they are offering a competitive salary of up to c£35,000 per annum D.O.E alongside hybrid working (3 days in the office, 2 days at home) and a generous benefits package including a profit share bonus scheme, your birthday off, flexible holiday scheme, additional holidays for volunteering, and a recognition scheme.

Roles and Responsibilities

  • Inspire, mentor, and manage First Line Support Engineers
  • Deliver training sessions for new products and tools
  • Manage team rotas including cover for sickness and holidays
  • Identify areas for improvement in workflows
  • Support with designing and implementing changes to boost efficiency
  • Assist with hiring new members for the team

Skills and Experience

  • Professional background in Service Desk Support, ideally within an MSP firm
  • Experienced leader who’s able to foster a collaborative team culture and resolve conflicts
  • Knowledge of operating systems including Windows, Mac, and Linux
  • Understanding of switching infrastructure and protocols with LAN and WAN technologies
  • Confident providing feedback to team members and conducting performance reviews
  • Able to delegate tasks and manage workloads within a fast-paced environment
  • Any fluently spoken language, in addition to English, is highly desirable
