3.5T Equipment Delivery Driver - Preston

Smiths Hire are the Northwest’s Largest Independent Equipment Hire Company with 18 Hire It Centres across the Region. Currently in a period of expansion across the business, we now have a fantastic opportunity for an experienced 3.5T Equipment Delivery Driver for our Preston Depot.

As an Equipment Delivery Driver your responsibilities will be:

1. To carry out deliveries and collections to our customers in a professional manner.
2. Demonstrate exceptional customer service skills in all aspects of the working day.
3. Drive the company vehicle responsibly and safely; obeying at all times the traffic laws and highway code.
4. An Equipment Delivery Driver must carry out daily and weekly vehicle checks ensuring any defects found are reported to the Fleet Manager.
5. Keep an accurate record of deliveries and collections using delivery documentation.
6. Ensure that any equipment on the vehicle is secured and protected where necessary.
7. Digi Card is required for this role.
8. Carry out other tasks and duties as required.

Working hours: Monday to Friday: 08:00am – 17:00pm and Saturday: 08:00am to 12:00pm on a rotational basis.

Employee Benefits:

1. Salary: £11.55 per hour for Monday – Friday.
2. Saturday hours paid at time and a half.
3. 25 Days plus statutory holidays (33 days in total).
4. An extra 2 days holiday after 5 year’s service.
