Assistant Farm Manager

Looking to take the next step in farm management? Want to be part of a business as they expand their growing operation?

This is an opportunity to lead the daily running of a new soft-fruit farm, working closely with the Site Manager while managing seasonal teams.

What's the Role?

1. Oversee the day-to-day operations of a 10-acre soft fruit, managing irrigation, crop nutrition, and pest control.
2. Lead a team of up to 20 pickers during peak season, ensuring efficient harvesting and quality control.
3. Responsible for compliance, maintaining records, and overseeing farm maintenance.
4. Support other areas of the business, including the packhouse, during the off-season.

What do I need?

1. Previous experience in farming, ideally within soft fruit or horticulture, along with knowledge of irrigation and pest control.
2. Experience managing or supervising teams and confidence in leading seasonal workers.
3. A good understanding of food safety and compliance would be beneficial, as well as practical experience in farm operations.
4. Tractor driving experience would be an advantage, but it's not essential.
