At PFAS, we are looking for a Communications & Engagement Manager to develop and implement a comprehensive strategy, working closely with the Senior Leadership Team to shape tone, language, and style into a comprehensive communications and engagement strategy to drive the achievement of our HAAS targets.
Position
As the PFAS Communications & Engagement Manager, you will drive goal achievement following business growth by creating innovative, positive communication strategies with support from Wellbeing and Marketing teams, while collaborating with diverse stakeholders, including SLT, Prime contract holders, and wider PFAS teams.
Main Responsibilities
- Develop and implement a communication strategy with the SLT to drive operational effectiveness and shape critical messaging.
- Refine branding, tone of voice, style, and language to ensure consistency and impact across all communication channels.
- Lead and deliver comprehensive communication and engagement activities, including internal comms, social media, marketing, stakeholder engagement, and digital platforms.
- Collaborate with HR to enhance employee engagement through forums, events, and initiatives while evaluating the effectiveness of communication efforts.
- Take charge of Social Value commitments and provide leadership, management, coaching, and development to Wellbeing and Marketing colleagues.
Ad-hoc Duties
- Maintain claimant and client confidentiality by working from a suitable environment with secure laptops and internet connections.
- Ensure high professional standards and attitudes when interacting with clients, colleagues, and claimants.
- Comply with IPRS policies and procedures, including GDPR, Data Protection, Information Security, and Health & Safety, while promoting these standards to colleagues.
- Complete mandatory training and undertake additional duties as required, maintaining professional behaviour and appearance at all times.
Requirements
Qualifications
We would love to hear from you if you are Educated to a Degree Level (or vocational equivalent). It would be desirable to have a Postgraduate or professional qualification in Marketing or Communications related field.
Essentials Requirements
- Minimum of 5 years’ experience in a senior marketing, communications, or engagement leadership role, providing strategic advice to senior leaders and executing campaigns for large, complex organizations.
- Proficient in relevant tools such as HTML, content management systems, SEO, web analytics, SEM, and e-marketing software.
- Experienced in managing multi-channel communications, including internal comms, social media, marketing, stakeholder engagement, and digital/web-based communications.
- Strong writing and proofreading skills with proven ability to create content using systems like Adobe and Canva, tailored to diverse audiences.
- Skilled in managing external partnerships, suppliers, and stakeholders.
- Desirable experience in supporting complex business changes and transformation programs.

- Demonstrates strong leadership by remaining calm under pressure, influencing others, and working proactively with minimal supervision.
- Communicates effectively with internal and external stakeholders, both verbally and in writing, while managing time to meet deadlines.
- Understands business and client needs, upholding strict confidentiality and professional standards.
Other Information
Salary: £50,000 - £55,000
Position: Full-time, permanent.
Location: Remote.
Hours: 40 hours per week, Monday to Friday.
