Job description

FM Conway is currently seeking an experienced Structural Engineer to join our Consultancy division. We have opportunities for the successful candidate to be based either from our Sevenoaks Head Office or our Central London office, which is a short walk from Victoria station. The role is full time, permanent and offers a competitive salary and wide range of benefits.

As our Structural Engineer, you will work collaboratively with internal and external clients throughout the project lifecycle, to guarantee technical and quality compliance through the provision of pro-active technical solutions and designs.

The duties of the Structural Engineer will include:
  1. Assisting with preparation of tender documents by preparing fee proposals and quality statements and also contributing to winning work by providing timelines for tasks and activities.
  2. Designing permanent and temporary works in accordance with relevant design standards and codes of practice.
  3. Supporting Local Authorities in their asset management strategies by undertaking inspections of highway structures and site surveys.
  4. Managing health and safety during the design and construction phases, by identifying hazards and where possible, designing them out.
What skills and experience do you need?

We are looking for a passionate and driven Structural Engineer with knowledge in AutoCAD and swept path analysis. You will have experience of design and detailing of structures in reinforced concrete and steel. You will hold a BEng/BSc in Civil Engineering or equivalent and have experience in structural engineering.
