The Opportunity

Cpl is actively recruiting for an experienced Corporate Lawyer (Senior Associate) to join an industry-leading legal firm with offices in Belfast City.

This is an exceptional opportunity for an experienced lawyer to join this firm’s specialist corporate team, working with a wide range of impressive clients from start-ups to multinationals.

About the Role

The successful candidate will be a key part of a hard-working, friendly, and supportive team and have the opportunity to focus on M&A work, investment, and corporate governance, with particular expertise in intellectual property and tech law, especially in the vibrant start-up community in NI.

What You’ll Need to Succeed

  1. Qualified lawyer with 5 years + PQE
  2. The M&A process
  3. The venture capital and/or private equity investment process
  4. General corporate advisory work such as share issues, share buy-backs, and internal re-organisations
  5. Producing shareholder agreements and bespoke articles of association
  6. Legal due diligence, including collating reports and advising on solutions
  7. The disclosure process and reviewing disclosure letters or schedules
  8. Drafting the typical ancillary documents on an acquisition or disposal
  9. Handling calls with clients without supervision; an understanding of IP will be an advantage
  10. A strong team player with experience in a high-performing and collaborative environment
