- Responsible for leading a specialized cybersecurity team that proactively detects, prevents, and mitigates cyber threats to the bank.
- Ensure Barclays applications, services, or environments are defendable by emulating real-world adversaries to identify detection gaps and advise on solutions to improve prevention.
- Lead targeted penetration testing to identify and report exploitable vulnerabilities across infrastructure, application, and cloud environments.
- Ensure continuous visibility into known vulnerabilities across Barclays systems.
- Ensure validation of security controls via routine automated assessments, adversarial exposure validation, and attack path validation.
- Hold accountability for attack surface discovery and finding prioritization.
Purpose of the role:
To monitor the performance of operational controls, implement and manage security controls, and consider lessons learnt in order to protect the bank from potential cyber-attacks and respond to threats.
Accountabilities:
- Management of security monitoring systems, including intrusive prevention and detection systems, to alert, detect, and block potential cybersecurity incidents, and provide a prompt response to restore normal operations with minimized system damage.
- Identification of emerging cybersecurity threats, attack techniques, and technologies to detect/prevent incidents, and collaborate with networks and conferences to gain industry knowledge and expertise.
- Management and analysis of security information and event management systems to collect, correlate, and analyze security logs, events, and alerts/potential threats.
- Triage of data loss prevention alerts to identify and prevent sensitive data from being exfiltrated from the bank's network.
- Management of cybersecurity incidents including remediation and driving to closure.
