Senior Safety Consultant
Consilium Recruit are proudly supporting and partnering with UK National Nuclear Laboratory to recruit Senior Safety Consultants. Working in the Safety, Security & Safeguards team, you will support this prestigious organisation to use nuclear energy and nuclear science to benefit society. The roles have a flexible base and such you can be based at one of the following locations: Preston (ideally), otherwise Sellafield or Risley (alternative with ability to visit Preston).
Commutable from: Preston, Blackburn, Blackpool, Wigan, Bolton, Ormskirk, Burnley.
Salary: to circa £74,297 p.a. plus an exceptional suite of benefits including:
The Role:
Provide expert knowledge and technical delivery of Radiological Safety Assessments including SQEP safety support to multi-disciplinary teams, addressing widespread safety challenges.
Manage and maintain the relationships with internal and external stakeholders, providing support to bids for new packages of work.
Develop new capabilities through innovative approaches including the technical lead on complex R&D projects and submissions.
Development and support of junior colleagues within Radiological Safety.
The Person:
The successful candidates will ideally be Degree qualified or Chartered Member of a professional institution.
Able to demonstrate a level of technical capability conversant with performing Radiological Safety Assessments across a variety of projects to an advanced standard.
Proven ability to act independently, under own initiative while supervising other members of the team.
Strongly sector aware with excellent networking skills across the field of Radiological Safety nationally.
Previous experience in the nuclear sector is essential in addition to the ability to undertake occasional travel to internal NNL sites and external customer sites.
