Our client is a digital advertising agency for high-consideration products. They help businesses with complex offerings increase their sales by combining the power of algorithms with human empathy, storytelling, and style. Our primary way of doing this is through our Paid Media Management service, which is at the heart of our business. In addition to this, we also offer creative campaign development and social-first content production.

What you would do in this role:

At Spekk, the majority of our work is done within three different client verticals: travel & experiences, high-growth start-ups, and high-end e-commerce - this is where you come in.

As a Senior SEM Manager at Spekk, you'll support a core part of our business: running paid search for clients. With the type of clients we have, paid social is often the main source of growth, but increasingly we rely on paid search for these clients as well, and we are looking for someone who can initially take on 3-5 clients we run paid search for at the moment (alongside paid social). This means that while you are responsible for the success of your accounts, you'll be able to bounce strategy off more senior team members and be supported by motivated juniors and technical experts.

In the future, this role can develop into managing paid search across all clients and building a team specifically for SEM. We're looking for someone who can grow into owning the paid search department.

In this role, you'll work on specific client accounts alongside a two-person team on each account. Other teammates will be in charge of project management, client communications, and paid social, and you will plug into these client teams to provide strategy, execution, and analysis for paid search specifically.

Who this role is for:

  • People who dig deeper. The type of products we market are high-consideration, which means they have complex consumer buying journeys. A superficial understanding of a challenge or problem won't cut it.
  • You've run Google Ads professionally for 3+ years for several different industries, preferably at an agency.
  • Experience from small agencies: you should be super crafty; equally comfortable with a smaller budget as you are with the responsibility of handling a large one.
  • Both sides of the brain. The role requires both analytical and creative thinking, so you'll need to be not just well-rounded, but more or less perfectly spherical.
  • Curiosity killed the cat, but made your career. Candidates should be inquisitive, ask questions, and be hungry for knowledge.
  • Really, really, really great people. We're hard-working and highly motivated, but we're also here to enjoy our work. Ideally, you'd be someone who looks out for others and revels in being social. The team mostly works remotely, but we meet up on team trips all over the world.

Timings & remuneration:

  • Start date: Early 2025. Full-time position, in it for the long run.
  • We're flexible around employment forms depending on location - we can figure out what suits both sides best.
  • Remuneration: £40,000 - £55,000 per year depending on experience.
  • Team trips to places like Barcelona, Nice, and Mallorca (2-3 per year).
  • £500 one-off allocation for home office set-up.
  • Fully remote workforce with team members based in the UK, Sweden, Spain, Germany, France, and Portugal.
  • Casa Spekk in Barcelona (our own brand home). Whenever you are in town, you can take full advantage of this collaboration space.

Please apply if...

  • You're highly proficient in written and spoken English.
  • UK/EU based.
  • You've worked in Google Ads Manager for 3+ years.
  • You've also worked with Facebook Ads a fair bit.
  • You have experience in B2B and B2C SEM strategies.
  • You have proven experience analyzing audience data, traffic analytics, and channel performance and recommending improvements.
  • You have good knowledge of Google Analytics, GTM, UTM building, and related tracking technologies.
  • You consider yourself very strategic.
  • You're a human calculator.
  • You're the person in a meeting everyone looks to for answers.
  • You know how to manage clients - even when they frustrate you.
  • When you sleep at night, you dream of neatly organized spreadsheets.
  • You fall to your knees in despair when a comma is out of place, a formula doesn't add up, or you're missing a piece of a puzzle.
  • You can work during UK office hours (we're pretty flexible, but you'll need to be around for meetings).
  • You'd rather spend your money seeing the world than buying more of what's in it.
  • You speak more than one language.
  • You are the person who always knows the new trends.
  • You have a morally and/or legally questionable story from your gap year to tell us.
  • You can mix a killer mezcal cocktail.
