We are on a mission to drive and expand Onitsuka Tiger’s global business and become the most iconic premium lifestyle brand. As we are establishing a strong organization to expand our business in Europe, we require a Senior Legal Counsel to proactively participate in this activity.

Job purpose

We are looking for a Legal Counsel at our office in London who will report to our General Manager for EMEA and provide support to the business in all legal aspects. The Legal Counsel must be bright with a pragmatic and commercial approach.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

The Legal Counsel will amongst others:

  1. Work closely with our central business teams based in Hoofddorp to, in particular, help shape the next iterations of our business.
  2. Be a trusted advisor to our business teams by providing proactive legal advice on a variety of areas and efficiently manage (legal) risk.
  3. Assist the company moving into new markets.

In this role the Legal Counsel will specifically:

  1. Draft, negotiate, review and provide legal guidance in respect of the conclusion or termination of distribution related agreements.
  2. Work with the team and outside counsel to assess legal risks, implement procedures and guidelines and - where necessary - point projects in the right direction.
  3. Manage litigation and disputes.
  4. Draft, negotiate, review and provide legal guidance on commercial contracts and other legal documents.
  5. Take preventive measures in order to minimize legal risk to the company.
  6. Provide general legal advice to business partners.

YOUR EXPERIENCE

Knowledge and experience

The candidate should, first and foremost have a passion for our brand, but next to this have:

  1. At least 4-6 years of experience.
  2. Preferably have trained at a mid to large size law firm in the EMEA region.
  3. Experience in an international environment.
  4. Fluent in English is a must, another language is preferred.
  5. Strong interest in expanding the scope of your practice to other areas of law.

  2. Strong communicator; able to influence, motivate and convince at all levels of the organization.
  3. Business acumen, self-starting, pro-active, result driven.
