The role can be based out of any one of our Oxfordshire locations in Abingdon or Oxford.
As a children's community nurse, you will work autonomously to manage a caseload of patients. You will safeguard and advocate for the child, facilitate their care and provide training so that their health needs are safely managed at home and in school.
The children’s community nursing team are expected to deliver respite sessions and support the duty role, acute (including Hospital at Home) and palliative care rotas.
The acute/Hospital at Home aspect of the role includes undertaking planned clinical assessments and interventions following care pathways ensuring any deteriorations are appropriately escalated. You will be working closely with the doctors in the acute setting to support care of these children at home where appropriate.
We offer end of life care at home, in order to support this, we operate an on-call rota which is activated when required. Training and support will be provided for this role.

The Oxfordshire Community Children's Nursing team provide vital support to children from birth to 18 years with complex nursing needs across the county.
This role is based at either Abingdon or Oxford, however we offer a countywide service and travel to other areas/bases is required on a regular basis. Applicants must have a full valid driving licence and have access to a car for work.
Our core service hours are between 08.00-20.00, 7 days a week, working contracted hours as a shift pattern, including weekends and bank holidays.
You must have appropriate UK professional registration.
