TEACHER OF ENGLISH

Pay Range: Teachers Main/Upper Pay Scale

Actual Salary from: £31,650 - £49,084 (M1 – U3)

Start Date: 1st September 2025

The Role

We are looking to appoint an outstanding and inspirational Teacher of English. The position will suit an experienced or early careers teacher.

We believe that every child matters and by working collaboratively we can transform lives and Build Bright Futures. Paxman Academy opened to Year 7 students in September 2019 and is a co-educational, fully comprehensive 11-16 Academy with a PAN of 180. We are a heavily oversubscribed school which is held in high regard in the community. Our recent Ofsted inspection (Feb 24) rated our school as Good.

Some of your key responsibilities will include:

1. Be fully qualified to teach through the secondary range for Key Stages 3 & 4
2. Demonstrate an enthusiasm for the subject which will inspire student progress
3. Demonstrate a capacity to design materials that are adapted and will engage students in the learning process
4. Experience of IT and a willingness to use it to plan and teach lessons

We're looking for you if you have:

1. Qualified Teacher Status (Suitable for ECTs)
2. Ability to teach lessons that challenge all students.
3. A passion for teaching and making a real difference to young people
4. Commitment to safeguarding and child protection.
