An established industry player is seeking a dedicated Food Service Assistant to join their Care Services team. In this part-time role, you will be responsible for providing exceptional food service to residents, ensuring their preferences are met while adhering to the highest food safety standards. You will play a crucial role in maintaining a clean and welcoming environment, fostering positive interactions with residents and colleagues alike. As a motivated and fully engaged member of the wider Care Services team, the Food Service Assistant is responsible for the efficient and timely service of food and beverages to residents in The Oaks Care Home, supporting the delivery of an excellent food and customer focused service whilst adhering to the highest food safety standards.
You’ll support the preparation of The Oaks dining room and the service of quality and nutritious meals for our residents. You’ll get to know the residents’ preferences and ensure that they are always available and keep the pantries stocked. You’ll liaise with both the catering and care management teams to ensure good communication.
Serving in The Oaks and other social spaces, you’ll take care to always be helpful and friendly, help clean the tables after service and adopt a ‘clean as you go’ work ethic, and fully stock the small kitchens, take fridge temperatures, clean kitchen fridges and keep kitchens clean and tidy.
We’d like our Food Service Assistant to have relevant customer service experience in a care home environment and have experience of following Food Safety and Health & Safety procedures. Adhering to the highest standards of due diligence, you’ll have working knowledge of Food Safety regulations.
You’ll be able to work positively with residents and colleagues from diverse backgrounds and have demonstrable interpersonal and oral communication skills.
