Job overview

We are looking for an enthusiastic and dedicated Psychologist or Psychotherapist, with parent-infant experience, to lead our expanding and developing parent and infant relationship service, in Norfolk and Waveney.

You will provide clinical supervision and leadership to the team, which includes Clinical Psychologists, Psychotherapists, Systemic Psychotherapists, Play Therapist, Cognitive Analytic Therapists and an Assistant Psychologist. Training in one or more models of parent infant interventions or observations methods is essential for this role.

Detailed job description and main responsibilities
  • Post-graduate doctoral level training in clinical psychology, or its equivalent, including eligibility for chartered status with the BPS.
  • Further post-qualification, postgraduate training in one or more additional specialised areas of psychological practice.
  • Registered as a Practitioner Psychologist with the Health Professions Council (HPC).
Experience
  • Specialist complex psychological assessment and treatment of people with a wide range of mental health problems.
  • Relevant experience in service area.
  • Application of psychology in different cultural contexts.
  • Extensive experience of working as a qualified clinical psychologist.
  • Teaching, training and delivering clinical supervision.
Skills
  • Use of complex methods of psychological assessment, intervention and management.
  • Assessment, evaluation and management of risk associated with mental ill health.
  • Well-developed communication skills.
Knowledge
  • Knowledge of the theory and practice of specialised psychological therapies.
  • Practitioner level knowledge of at least two models of psychological therapy.
  • Evidence of continuing professional development as recommended by the BPS.
Other
  • Commitment to continuing professional development.
  • Capacity to exercise careful clinical judgement.
  • Able to identify and employ appropriate clinical governance mechanisms.
  • Ability to travel independently.
