Hauser & Wirth was founded in 1992 in Zurich by Iwan Wirth, Manuela Wirth and Ursula Hauser. The Senior Marketing Manager is responsible for promoting Hauser & Wirth, its artists and exhibitions, participation in art fairs and Hauser & Wirth Publishers to a global audience of existing and new clients.
Based in London, this role will include, but not be limited to, the following responsibilities:
- Plan and manage an effective programme of marketing activity for Hauser & Wirth to achieve business objectives.
- In close collaboration with the Senior Director Marketing Europe, manage the marketing strategy for campaigns including identifying target audiences, and creating and delivering campaigns to include (but not limited to) advertising, print, digital media, partnerships, content marketing, promotions, social media, online marketing and CRM.
- Develop creative and evidence-based marketing initiatives to deepen our relationship with artists and existing clients and attract new clients to the business.
- Develop innovative partnerships with art fairs, other brands and organisations for the benefit of Hauser & Wirth, its artist and clients.
- Ensure marketing objectives and targets are met/exceeded by monitoring effectiveness during campaigns and developing contingency strategies and adjusting plans if required.
- Work closely with the Senior Director Marketing Europe to manage the market budget for allocated locations and campaigns, following business procedures, monitoring expenditure and obtaining best value.
The successful candidate will have the following skills / experience:
- Essential: Fluency in English as well as French or Italian.
- A strong interest and related experience in the field of contemporary art and culture.
- Experience of managing, devising and implementing effective marketing campaigns in a global business / complex organisation.
- Creative thinker with an enthusiastic and entrepreneurial approach to producing innovative marketing campaigns.
- Excellent copy writing skills with a very keen eye for detail and accuracy.
- Sound visual literacy and understanding of the principles of branding and the motivation to create creatively standout work.
- Effective communication skills with the ability to convey thoughts clearly and concisely, and in a way that is accessible and engaging to a diverse range of people.
- Ability to work collaboratively with a range of internal and external partners, developing and sustaining effective working relationships.
- Experience of digital marketing including programmatic advertising, content advertising, SEM, SEO and e-CRM.
- Excellent planning and organisational skills, especially the ability to prioritise a heavy workload and to work flexibly.
- Ability to work positively and calmly under pressure, remaining a supportive and constructive team member.
- Demonstrable experience of managing a multi-platform marketing budget, always ensuring a high level of accuracy.
- Experience of managing agencies, designers and suppliers.
