About The Role

Merseyside Fire & Rescue Service is seeking an experienced and motivated HR Professional to join our Organisational Development team. This role is pivotal in supporting our commitment to excellence in service delivery and employee development. If you're passionate about nurturing talent, enhancing skills, and fostering a culture of continuous improvement, we want to hear from you!

As the Learning & Development Advisor, you’ll be responsible for ensuring our staff have access to high-quality training and development that aligns with our organisational goals. From identifying training needs and designing development programs to managing the appraisal process and sourcing external training solutions, you'll play a vital role in the growth and effectiveness of our workforce. This includes supporting our leadership programs, overseeing the training budget, and helping develop future leaders through succession planning initiatives.

Key Responsibilities:
  1. Conduct comprehensive training needs analysis to drive the development of our workforce’s skills and behaviours.
  2. Collaborate with department heads to align training initiatives with service objectives.
  3. Provide expert guidance to line managers on training solutions for their teams.
  4. Source and manage external contracts, ensuring compliance with financial regulations.
  5. Supervise the administration team and provide one-on-one support to learners.
  6. Work closely with our Training & Development Academy to ensure continuity of training services.
  7. Monitor and report on the effectiveness and quality of training programs.
What You’ll Bring:

  3. Experience managing all stages of the training cycle.
