JOB TITLE: Grounds Maintenance Operative

LOCATION: Horndean - Covering Horndean, Petersfield, Ham Barn, Liss & surrounding

SALARY: Up to £24,960 DOE + van + benefits

DURATION: 12 week Temporary to go to Perm

The Employer:
We are looking to fill the role of a Grounds Maintenance Operative within a housing environment. Our client is one of the largest Social Housing providers in the South of England, ambitious with a huge 5 year plan. We are seeking a GMO to assist with their main aim of creating a sustainable future for social housing, building new homes and investing in existing ones, creating vibrant, thriving communities.

The Role:
Responsible for the delivery of the Grounds Maintenance service to the communal areas of our clients managed estates, including:

1. Using a PDA Reporting system to record site visits and tasks carried out
2. Grass cutting, hedge cutting, pruning, weed control, litter picking, and other works
3. Ensuring that equipment is regularly washed, kept clean and in good condition, reporting any defects to the supervisor
4. Ensuring that all vehicles are kept clean with regular checks to oil and coolant levels, reporting any defects to the fleet manager
5. Assisting all other trades as required to ensure high-quality service for residents/customers

The Candidate needs:

1. Experience in a similar role or trade background, preferably with Grounds Maintenance
2. Knowledge and understanding of practical and technical issues relevant to Grounds Maintenance
3. Skills in the use of both mechanical & hand tools used in grounds maintenance operations
4. Understanding of customer needs and ability to think quickly
5. Courteous and professional behavior
6. Ability to prioritize conflicting demands
7. Great communication skills
8. Ability to maintain accurate records
9. Basic IT skills
10. Current holder of National Proficiency Test certificate for the safe control & use of pesticide or Pa1, Pa6a
11. A clean Driving Licence with towing ability

SUMMARY:
This is a Temp to Perm, full-time role, working a 40 hour week over 5 days. The role requires a satisfactory Basic DBS check.
