Job description

NHS Greater Glasgow and Clyde is one of the largest healthcare systems in the UK employing around 40,000 staff in a wide range of clinical and non-clinical professions and job roles. We deliver acute hospital, primary, community and mental health care services to a population of over 1.15 million and a wider population of 2.2 million when our regional and national services are included.

There are 2 permanent, part-time posts of 24.93 hours per week, with a shift pattern of Monday to Friday.

Please note the salary is Pro Rata for part time hours.

The post holder is required to work as part of a team to deliver a quality service as directed by policies and procedures which are monitored by Supervisory staff. Catering assistants will work between the kitchen, dining room, retail outlet and wards. Responsibilities include:

1. Providing patient meals, covering Breakfast, Lunch & supper meal service, based on regeneration at central points with a ward-based service.
2. Provision of staff/visitors meals within the retail outlet.
3. Involved in basic food preparation and general support with a range of cleaning, meal picking and packing, and meal distribution functions.
4. Monitoring patient pantry provisions on the ward and clinical areas, replenishing where required.
