Procurement Manager – Glasgow (Hybrid working)

Embrace Talent is delighted to partner with a leading global engineering and manufacturing organisation to recruit a procurement manager.

This key position has been created through growth and will see you lead a small team of procurement specialists, using your expertise to support a variety of high-profile projects. From sourcing complex systems and equipment to securing essential parts, raw materials, and consumables, you’ll play a crucial role in ensuring seamless project delivery. You will be responsible for strategic cost management—identifying savings opportunities and continually monitoring supplier performance to guarantee value for money.

Building and maintaining strong relationships with suppliers will be central to success in the role. You'll oversee supplier performance, drive improvement initiatives, and manage risks and opportunities proactively. Strong stakeholder engagement skills will be essential, as you will be working with a variety of internal and external partners to meet procurement objectives. You will work closely with the engineering team, constantly monitoring bills of materials to make necessary updates and setting up systems to track part usage to ensure a reliable flow of materials.

Required experience:

A solid background in contract and supplier management, with the ability to control costs and forecast budgets accurately.

Extensive procurement experience is essential. Additional knowledge of project management methodologies, the legal aspects of procurement, and familiarity with ERP/MRP systems would be an added advantage. MCIPS or working towards will be preferable.
