Cyber Security Technical Consultant (Customer Facing)

Type: Permanent, Full time (40 hrs per week)

Location: UK based, remote with access to offices in Abingdon and Fareham

Department: Pre Sales & Design Function

Salary: Up to £80,000 + Bonus (DOE)

Role overview

ITGL is seeking to add a Cyber Security Technical Consultant to its growing Cyber Services Team. You will play a critical role in the positioning of the cyber security services from ITGL, Conscia and our strategic partners, supporting technical pre-sales activities and defining customer needs and technical requirements, initially focused on our Managed Detection and Response (MDR) solutions.

Responsibilities and Duties – What you will be doing

  1. Consulting Services: Provide expert advice and guidance on cyber security strategies, best practices, and solutions to clients across various industries.
  2. Pre-Sales Support: Collaborate with the sales team to identify client needs, present cyber security solutions, and assist in the development of proposals and presentations.
  3. Requirements Definition: Work closely with clients to understand their specific security needs and technical requirements, particularly for MDR solutions.
  4. Solution Design: Develop and design customised cyber security solutions that align with clients' business objectives and technical environments.
  5. Implementation and Service Support: Assist in the deployment and integration of customers’ cyber security solutions with our group Security Operations Centre (SOC).
  6. Service Review: Deliver regular service reviews with agreed clients to relay and discuss performance of service against KPIs.
  7. Continuous Improvement: Stay up-to-date with the latest cyber security trends, threats, and work with our Security Practice, Portfolio & Service teams.

Knowledge, Skills and Effective Behaviours – What you can bring to the role

The ideal candidate for this role will possess a thorough understanding of the UK Cyber Security Market and in particular, MDR. You are expected to be proactive, with a customer experience-first mentality that complements ITGL's focus on exceptional client experiences.

The ideal candidate has/is:

  1. Minimum of five years of experience in a cyber security technical role.
  2. Cyber Security: Deep understanding of cyber security principles, threats, and best practices.
  3. SOC: Experience working in a SOC, or proficiency in designing/optimising SOC environments.
  4. MDR Solutions: Proficiency in Managed Detection and Response technologies.
  5. SIEM Tools: Experience with Security Information and Event Management (SIEM) tools.
  6. SOAR Tools: Operational use and understanding of their role in an effective SOC.
  7. Incident Response: Experience in detecting, analysing, and responding to security incidents.
  8. Threat Intelligence: Ability to gather, analyse, and apply threat intelligence.
  9. Endpoint Security: Familiarity with endpoint protection platforms.
  10. Cloud Security: Understanding of cloud security principles and practices.
  11. Network Security: Knowledge of network protocols, firewalls, and intrusion detection/prevention systems.
  12. Essential qualifications include (at least one of): GIAC, CISM, CISSP, CEH.
  13. A degree in a related field such as cyber security or computer science would also be advantageous.
  14. A passion for technology; inquisitive, curious and creative.
  15. High level of enthusiasm for engaging with people.
  16. Self-motivation with the ability to quickly adapt to change.
