An established industry player is seeking enthusiastic graduates to join their Remote Operations Centre as Surveyors. This innovative role involves performing marine survey activities using cutting-edge technology, ensuring accurate data collection for informed decision-making. Graduates will be immersed in a supportive program designed to foster professional growth while contributing to significant projects. The company values diversity and encourages a collaborative environment where fresh ideas thrive. If you are driven by innovation and eager to make an impact in marine surveying, this opportunity is perfect for you.
Do you want to join our Geo-data revolution? Fugro’s global reach and unique know-how will put the world at your fingertips. Our love of exploration and technical expertise help us to provide our clients with invaluable insights. We source and make sense of the most relevant Geo-data for their needs, so they can design, build and operate their assets more safely, sustainably and efficiently. But we’re always looking for new talent to take the next step with us. For bright minds who enjoy meaningful work and want to push our pioneering spirit further. For individuals who can take the initiative but work well within a team.
As a Remote Operations Centre (ROC) Surveyor at Fugro, located in Aberdeen, you will perform marine survey activities from our state-of-the-art ROC, providing essential survey support to all operations within the region using innovative and industry-leading technology and protocols.
You will learn how to deliver accurate and timely survey data, enabling informed decision-making and contributing to the safe and efficient execution of marine operations. The role operates on a 12-hour shift on a 3-week rotational basis, ensuring continuous support and monitoring.
You will be supported by our expert Surveyors, Survey Supervisor, ROC Superintendent, and other ROC staff, Offshore staff, Project Managers, Clients, Project Teams, and third-party suppliers to oversee the effective and efficient completion of project work scopes. Additionally, you will collaborate with other Remote Operations Centres, Innovation teams, and key suppliers globally.
Your responsibilities will include supporting the setup, interfacing, testing, calibration, and operation of survey sensors, ensuring operations are conducted efficiently and in accordance with project requirements. You will remotely operate online survey software, monitor data quality, and take immediate corrective action when necessary. Clear communication with remote project locations and maintaining accurate documentation will be essential.
In addition to the technical experience, you will participate in our U.Gro programme, which focuses on your professional development. This supportive initiative is tailored to help you grow both personally and professionally, providing you with the skills and knowledge needed to excel in your career. You will be embedded into Fugro at a sensible pace, allowing you to acclimate to our company culture while making significant contributions to our projects.
We are seeking enthusiastic graduates who are passionate about marine surveying and eager to make a significant impact in the field. If you are driven by innovation and excellence, and ready to tackle technical and commercial challenges, we want to hear from you.
To qualify for this role, you should have a Bachelor’s degree or higher in Geophysics, Geology, Surveying, Geomatics, Earth Sciences, Environmental Science, Oceanography, Marine Science, Physics, or a related field.
We value potential and a willingness to learn over specific experience. Graduate ROC Surveyors will uphold data quality objectives and produce high-quality deliverables. You should be able to complete tasks on time and communicate progress effectively.
Fugro provides a positive work environment as well as projects that will satisfy the most curious minds. We also offer great opportunities to stretch and develop yourself. By giving you the freedom to grow faster, we think you’ll be able to do what you do best, better. This should help us to find fresh ways to get to know the earth better. We encourage you to be yourself at Fugro. So bring your energy and enthusiasm, your keen eye and can-do attitude. But bring your questions and opinions too. Because to be the world’s leading Geo-data specialist, we need the strength in depth that comes from a diverse, driven team.
