Junior Finance Assistant

About the Role:
Reporting to the Head of Finance, the Junior Finance Assistant will support the Finance and wider business with various administrative and financial tasks. This role involves maintaining financial records, ensuring compliance with financial regulations, and supporting the day-to-day operations of the company. The ideal candidate will have strong attention to detail, excellent organisational skills, and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Day-to-day ownership of the purchase to pay process, from raising POs to paying supplier invoices.
- Manage and reconcile the company’s cards in Pleo, ensuring internal controls and policies are maintained over these expenses.
- Maintaining and developing key cost trackers.
- Maintaining and updating financial records and databases.
- Assisting in the preparation of variance and ad-hoc analyses for business units.
- Reconciling company bank accounts and assisting in month-end and year-end closing processes.
- Supporting payroll processing and ensuring accurate record-keeping.
- Assisting in the development and implementation of operational policies and procedures.
- Ensuring compliance with financial regulations, internal controls, and company policies.
- Assisting in the preparation of financial and operational reports for management review.
- Supporting the client-facing teams raising quotes and sales invoices.
- Owning the Finance inbox and responding to client and supplier queries.
Key Qualifications:
Education and Experience:
- A-levels or equivalent (ideally with a focus on Accounting, Business, or Finance).
- Experience in a finance or accounts-related role is beneficial but not essential.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent organisational and time management abilities.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
- Good communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to multitask and prioritise tasks in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong sense of integrity and confidentiality.
- Proactive attitude and willingness to learn.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a small team.
