Job description

Social Responsibility Coordinator 12-month FTC

This is a 12-month FTC position and requires you to work from the office 4 days a week.

To support the delivery of the Social Responsibility commitments, specifically Disney’s Social Purpose programmes: Moments that Matter and Disney VoluntEARS. The coordinator will support the Social Responsibility Supervisor and business teams with a focus on the delivery of signature programmes that deliver comfort, happiness and confidence to children and their families when it's needed most with UK Strategic Charity Partners.

Disney VoluntEARS are at the heart of our Social Purpose programme, dedicating time, skills and experience to making a difference within our communities. The coordinator will oversee the delivery of existing volunteer projects and recommendations of new opportunities.

In addition to the main focus, the coordinator’s other responsibility will be to ensure all activities within their remit are compliant and reported accurately, support on budget tracking and payments, and where needed supporting the Social Responsibility team to deliver campaigns and activations within its framework, as defined by the Supervisor.

What you will do

Moments that Matter Programme and Disney VoluntEARS Programme

  1. Support the roll-out and implementation of project as part of Disney’s Moments That Matter Programme in the UK, including wish granting, children’s hospital and community projects.
  2. With support from the supervisor, develop and maintain a delivery plan for each financial year that aligns to the 3-year VoluntEARS strategy.
  3. Deliver existing VoluntEARS projects including Superhero Series and Wildfowl and Wetlands Trust.
  4. Identify and pilot new volunteering projects to grow the programme and enable Disney employees to make a difference for children, young people and local communities.
  5. Promote the new My Disney Giving Programme to employees and ensure integration with VoluntEARS programme and comms.
  6. Working with other lines of business teams on specific CSR Social Purpose projects to ensure brand, tone, assets and content is on-message across programmes and campaigns.
  7. Ensure necessary legal, regulatory and corporate governance is in place for all activities.
  8. Capture relevant information and data to provide UK ROI and social measurements.
  9. Ensure all governance, consent, payments, and data capture requirements are in place for all projects.
  10. Work with the Corporate Communications team to deliver necessary content and materials for internal and external comms.

UK Governance, Reporting and Finance

  1. Work with Supervisor to oversee the process of all financial and budgeting requirements in accordance with protocols and ensuring they are understood, adhered to by the team.
  2. Raise financial payments for projects, events and campaigns.
  3. Provide guidance to other lines of business delivering Moments That Matter and VoluntEARS Programmes and Campaigns in the UK as well as being the first point of contact for key projects.
  4. Work with Governance and Impact Lead to liaise with governance, legal, tax and brand teams to assure compliance and mitigate risk across specific Programmes and Campaigns.
  5. Provide the team with information for inputting of mandatory information into Company compliance databases such as CMS database.
  6. Ensure FCPA and processes are understood, adhered to and monitored to mitigate business risk for initiatives.
  7. Escalate any risk or anomalies around governance to the Governance and Impact Lead and support the team to ensure all issues are rectified prior to execution.

Third Party Account Management

  1. Ensure charitable partners uphold agreed principles of engagement throughout partnership period.
  2. Represent Disney on appropriate external network and forum groups, sharing best practice and building up knowledge transfer for Disney.
  3. Assess campaigns for reputational risk and escalate any concerns to the Senior Manager.
  4. Liase with charity partners with regard to use of content and messaging, for example, annual reports.
  5. Work with charity partners to look for innovation and opportunity to maximise impact of a campaign or initiative.
  6. Be a Disney ambassador and point of contact on the day for high profile/high impact initiatives and events.

Line Management & Teamwork

  1. Work in partnership with wider CSR team members.
  2. Support the guidance, motivation and development of SR interns.
  3. Build key partnerships within the business to deliver moments.

Required qualifications and skills

  1. Some experience working in or with Third Sector, film, entertainment or retail sectors.
  2. Demonstrate a passion for Social Responsibility, Children’s Wish Granting, Children’s Hospitals and/or supporting the community.
  3. Hands-on experience working on programmes and/or projects to a level where the candidate can oversee the delivery of projects with little support.
  4. Ability and experience to prioritise and manage own workload, self-starter who has proven track record of delivering tasks on time.
  5. Ability to use procedures to solve problems and analyse information to make judgments independently.
  6. Understanding and experience working with accessibility and inclusivity requirements and regulations.
  7. Understanding of UK charity regulations in relation to public campaigns and working knowledge of Global charity/giving parameters including Foreign Corruption Practice Act and UK Anti-Bribery law advantageous but not essential.
  8. Understanding of SAP or equivalent systems and understanding of their purpose advantageous but not essential.
  9. Demonstrates a flexible and proactive attitude and is open to taking on various responsibilities, no matter how big or small.
  10. Demonstrates empathy, active listening, and effective communication to foster a welcoming and team-oriented environment.
  11. Strong interpersonal and persuasion skills, with the ability to influence others positively and drive collaborative solutions that result in win/win outcomes.
